Multilingual Learners
Our EL program is designed to engage, grow, and empower multilingual learners by building both English proficiency and academic success. We support students in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while also helping them fully access grade-level curriculum. Instruction is tailored to meet individual language needs and provides cultural support that values each student’s background.
Students qualify for EL services through a two-step process: families complete a Home Language Survey at registration, and if another language is spoken in the home, students are given an English language proficiency screener. Based on those results, students who qualify receive targeted support through small group or classroom-based instruction. Progress is monitored annually using the state’s ACCESS assessment, ensuring services continue to match student needs.
